Selected work
Two product demos for a YC-backed startup, plus the short-form and design work the craft came out of — 12 pieces here.
Most of it is vertical: edits for channels where someone decides in about three seconds whether to keep watching, and the numbers tell you immediately if you got it wrong. That is a blunt way to learn pacing, and it is the same instinct a product demo needs — reach the point before anyone leaves.

What I make
Six things, named after what they’re for. Most engagements start with one and grow into a couple.
Product demo video
Your product doing the thing it does, in 60 to 90 seconds, so a stranger understands it without a call.
- Screen capture direction
- Script pass
- Motion + captions
- Cutdowns for socials
Launch & announcement films
The video that carries a launch day: Product Hunt, a funding note, a new release.
- Concept + storyboard
- Edit + sound design
- Colour grade
- Platform variants
Paid-social ad creative
Testable ad units built to survive the first three seconds. Several hooks per concept, so you have something to A/B.
- 3 to 5 hook variants
- 9:16 / 1:1 / 16:9
- Caption burn-in
- Iteration on winners
Product explainers & motion
Motion that does explanatory work: UI walkthroughs, animated diagrams, onboarding sequences.
- Animated UI
- Lower thirds + titles
- Diagram animation
- Source project files
Founder & brand channel content
Ongoing content for a founder-led channel: long-form edits, the covers that earn the click, a repeatable format.
- Long-form edit
- Cover design
- Shorts cutdowns
- Format guidelines
Brand & visual systems
The identity underneath all of it, so the tenth video still looks like it came from the same company as the first.
- Logo + wordmark
- Type + colour system
- Motion guidelines
- Template kit
Why the creator work matters
The problem with most product demos and most paid-social ads is not that they look cheap. It’s that nobody watches past three seconds.
That is the same problem a creator has — except a creator finds out immediately, because the audience leaves the moment the edit slips. I’ve spent four years editing for channels where that feedback arrives within the hour.
Startups get the craft that came out of it, pointed at a different job.

Process
Four steps, no account managers, no surprises in the first cut.
Brief
We work out what the video has to achieve, who it has to land with, and the date it ships.
Concept
You see direction and a storyboard before I touch the footage, so the first cut is never a surprise.
Edit
I cut, you review, we iterate. Progress updates throughout and unlimited revision rounds.
Deliver
Final files in every format and aspect ratio you need, ready to upload the day you get them.
Who you’d be working with
I’m Hari Nayan. I work where video meets design — four years of short-form edits, motion graphics and brand visuals, first for creators, increasingly for startups and the people building them.
You deal with me directly. There’s no account manager between the brief and the person cutting the footage, which is usually why the second draft is closer than it has any right to be.
Everything I make has a job to do: a demo has to make the product make sense, an ad has to survive the scroll, a brand has to still look like itself on the tenth video. If it doesn’t do the job, it doesn’t ship.
